Sixth Banksy artwork revealed as new piece appears in northwest London
The piece appeared on an advertising board in Cricklewood
A sixth piece of artwork has been revealed by street artist Banksy in as many days.
The artist, known for keeping his identity anonymous, has premiered a new series of pieces during the week in various locations across the capital.
Residents in the area of Cricklewood in northwest in London woke up to discover the piece, which depicts a large cat with an upturned nail as it stretches its body out.
This is the latest in a string of animal-related artworks that the elusive artist has designed, including elephants, monkeys, a goat and a wolf.
The most recent piece of art was discovered in the Walthamstow area of east London on Friday (August 9th), with a group of pelicans being seen taking fish from a chip shop sign.
Simialrly, an image of a wolf was painted onto a satellite dish was found in the south London suburb of Peckham.
However within just one hour of the art's discovery, the satellite dish was taken down by three men.
Eyewitnesses who watched the dismantling of the piece said that it was a "shame" that local residents could not enjoy the art before it was taken down.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "We were called to reports of a stolen satellite dish containing artwork at 1.52pm on Thursday August 8 in Rye Lane, Peckham. There have been no arrests. Inquiries continue."
Banksy's spokesperson has said that the artist does not condone the theft of the artwork and that the satellite dish's current whereabouts are unknown.
