Officers responded to the scene at 2:10 a.m. on Sunday morning (March 24th), discovering a silver Volkswagen Golf that had crashed by itself.

Emergency services were called to the scene to revive the driver and three passengers, but they were all sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The people inside the car have not yet been identified, according to the PSNI - who offered their thoughts to the families of those who died.

District Commander Superintendent Paul McGrattan from the PSNI said: "This is an unspeakable tragedy for the families involved, and for the wider community, who will understandably struggle to comprehend such loss of life.

"A thorough and sensitive investigation is now underway and anyone with information that could assist us is asked to get in touch with the Collision Investigation Unit."

Officers currently remain at the scene and the Ballynahonemore Road will be closed for most of the day, the force confirmed.

Anyone with information on the crash is being urged to get in touch as soon as possible as investigations are opened to help piece the events of the evening together.

Those who may have any information or evidence, including dashcam and CCTV footage can get in touch by visiting the PSNI's website and reporting the incident there.
