There are a lot of big stories coming our way in 2024.
Not only is 2024 a leap year, but it will see major sporting tournaments, elections for world leaders, a former president on trial and we'll start to see a new face on UK money,
Here are the big things we know are going on in 2024:

Paris set to host 2024 Olympics
The 2024 Summer Olympics will be hosted in Paris, the second time the city has hosted the games.
Events are scheduled between July and August with surfing events to be held in Tahiti, French Polynesia.
AI will be used for the first time to monitor for misconduct/cheating.
UK General Election
It's widely expected that the UK will see a general election in 2024, (although the latest possible date it could be held is January 2025.)
Either way, 2024 will see political parties building manifestos and canvassing for support ahead of the all-important ballot.
King Charles III starts appearing on money
The new banknotes, featuring King Charles III, are set to be in use around mid-2024.
He and the Queen with be in circulation together, with older notes only being replaced when they're needed to be, to make it a more environmentally friendly switch.
Donald Trump on trial
Donald Trump is scheduled to go on trial in March charged with attempting to overturn the 2020 election.
This trial will happen a day before voters in several U.S. states decide if he should run in the next presidential election later next year.
Presidential election 2024
The 2024 U.S. presidential election will be held in November.
Democrat Joe Biden is expected to run against the Republican candidate, which could still be Donald Trump.
If Joe Biden wins a second term, he's due to be in office until shortly before his 86th Birthday.
Euro 2024 to be held in Germany
The upcoming UEFA European Football Championship of 2024, or 'Euro 2024', is being held in Germany in June.
With France narrowly missing out to Argentina in the last World Cup, they will be among the favourites along with England, and the hosts.
The tournament kicks off on 24th June with Germany VS Scotland.
Vladimir Putin looking for 5th term
Russian President Vladimir Putin says he will run for a fifth term in the country's presidential elections in 2024.
The election is anticipated to be a continuation of Putin's longstanding political dominance in Russia.
Mickey Mouse becomes public property
Disney's copyright on the 1928 version of Mickey Mouse from "Steamboat Willie" expires in 2024.
This means that the character will enter the public domain, allowing for broader use and distribution of this iconic cartoon figure.
