Scottish Premiership - Five Things

Here are five things we learned from this weekend's Premiership action:

1. Dedryck Boyata gives away goals

Celtic's summer signing from Manchester City has scored some crucial goals for his new club but had already shown glimpses of erratic play before his slack play allowed Inverness two late goals. The Belgian mis-controlled a pass midway inside his own half to gift Inverness the ball ahead of Ryan Christie's goal and was then caught in possession by Dani Lopez before the Spaniard cut inside him and fired a second. Celtic were already four up but similar errors against Malmo in the Champions League qualifiers could be far costlier.

2. Hamilton answer their doubters again

Accies failed to score in their opening two games to fuel the predictions that they would struggle in front of goal this season. But they produced an emphatic riposte as new strikers Carlton Morris and Christian Nade got off the mark in a 4-0 win over Dundee United that showed New Douglas Park is still a difficult venue to visit.

3. Kris Boyd still scores crucial goals for Kilmarnock

It took Boyd 10 games to hit a league goal last season and he only managed three in the Championship. But the former Rangers striker boosted his confidence when he headed a late equaliser against Partick Thistle in his second game back at Kilmarnock, and his first for the club since the strike at Easter Road that kept them up in 2014.

4. Hearts can rotate their squad

Hearts brought in three players in their 2-0 midweek win over Motherwell and they all made a major contribution: Sam Nicholson won a penalty, Gavin Reilly converted it and Billy King netted in the second half. The goalscorers were back on the bench against Ross County but Hearts showed their strength in depth by recording another victory to stay top.

5. Scott Allan has been accepted by the Celtic support

The lifelong Rangers fan apparently received some good-natured stick over his allegiances when he was introduced to his Celtic team-mates, but a warm reception from the Parkhead faithful ahead of the Inverness game will have further settled his nerves following the summer transfer saga.
