Police are hunting four teenagers in connection with an incident that saw a firework thrown into a taxi in Dundee yesterday evening.

At around 8:10 pm last night, the driver was parked up in Craigmore Street when a group of four male youths approached the taxi.

One asked the price of a fare, and then threw a firework into the back of the cab.

Fortunately, the driver was left unhurt, and there was no significant damage caused to the vehicle.

Officers are looking to trace the youths, who are described as being between 15 and 18-years-old, wearing black hooded tops and jogging bottoms.

A police spokesperson said: "Those who were involved in this dangerous and reckless activity may have viewed it as a bit of harmless fun, but they should consider the potential consequences of their actions.

"Anybody thinking of using fireworks should be aware it is an offence to throw, cast or fire any firework in or into a public place.

"Fortunately no-one has been injured, but the outcome could have been far worse.

"Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting CR/27042/17 or speak to any police officer".
