A woman's been airlifted to hospital with leg injuries after falling from Arbroath cliffs.

Coastguard crews and lifeboat teams rescued her last night.

They say she fell from near the bottom of the 80 foot cliff.

A HM coastguard said: "At 8.23pm yesterday we received a call about a person who had fallen at Arbroath Cliffs."

"Coastguard rescue teams from Arbroath and Montrose attended and worked with lifeboat crew from Arbroath RNLI inshore and all weather lifeboats to reach the casualty and prepare her to be airlifted by a coastguard search and rescue helicopter to hospital.

"The person had fallen a short distance from fairly near the base of the cliff and sustained leg injuries."
