Woman rescued from River Tay

A woman has been rescued from the River Tay in Perth.

Emergency services were called to reports of a woman in the river near Tay Street shortly after 3am.

Police Scotland said the 34-year-old was safely recovered from the water at about 3.25am.

She was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary to be checked over but appeared to have suffered no ill effects in the incident.
