Woman Killed In A9 Crash Named

An elderly woman who died following a crash on the A9 between Murthly and Bankfoot on Friday morning's been named.

96 Connie Jennings from West Yorkshire was a passenger in a car which collided with a bus on the dual carriageway section near Murthly.

The collision, which involved a red Mazda CX5 and a white 'D&E Coaches' single decker bus, occurred on the dual carriageway section of the A9 near to Murthly. The bus was stopped in lane one of the southbound dual carriageway behind a second 'D&E Coaches' bus at the time of the incident.

Both the driver and passenger of the Mazda were taken to Ninewells Hospital, where sadly the passenger, a 96 year-old woman, died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. The driver, a woman in her sixties, did not sustain life threatening injuries.

There were no passengers on the bus when the collision occurred.

As part of ongoing enquiries into the collision, police are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the red Mazda CX5 or the buses travelling south, prior to the time of the incident.
