A woman appeared in court today accused of murdering a mother-of-three by stabbing her to death in the street.

Marie Low, 36, was allegedly knifed in Dundee's Ballantrae Terrace around 3pm on Sunday in front of horrified onlookers, including young kids.

Today Siobhan Russell, 30, from Dundee, appeared in court charged over the death.

Russell made a private appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court facing a single charge of murder.

It alleges that on Sunday at Ballantrae Terrace, Dundee, she struck Miss Low on the body with a knife and did murder her.

Russell made no plea or declaration to the petition and the case was continued for further examination.

Solicitor Gary Foulis, for Russell, asked that she be released on bail during a 15 minute hearing.

However, Sheriff Lorna Drummond QC remanded Russell in custody ahead of a further hearing next week.
