A woman accused of murdering 82-year-old Mary Logie has been ordered to stand trial over her death - and now faces charges of theft and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Mrs Logie was found dead in her own home on January 5th.

Sandra Weir, 40, of Green Gates, Methil, appeared on petition at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court.

She made no plea or declaration to the five charges against her during a brief private hearing.

Weir initally appeared in court last week facing a single charge of murder.

Now prosecutors have added a further four charges.

She is now accused of theft, theft by opening a lockfast place, attempting to pervert the course of justice and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

Solicitor David Fitzpatrick made no motion for bail on her behalf.

Weir was fully committed for trial and remanded in custody ahead of further dates being set.
