The whole of Tayside and Fife is now living under tier 3 coronavirus rules.

The move was announced by the First Minister earlier this week.

It means greater restrictions on hospitality and travel.

MSP for Mid Scotland and Fife Murdo Fraser believes it's a tough decision to take.

"I can understand why the Scottish Government has had to take this action, but that doesn't make it any less of a bitter pill to swallow," he said

"It's going to have a huge impact on the economic viability of a number of business that have already been struggling to survive.

But he's urging people to follow the rules to ensure a return to a lower level of restrictions as quickly as possible.

"Other people have to listen very closely to the guidance being issues by the health authorities and following that, prevent any wider spread of covid," added Mr Fraser.
