A woman, toddler and two dogs were rescued by Anstruther RNLI yesterday afternoon, after getting cut off by rising water.

Gill Fraser, 2-year-old Hamish, and dogs, Bert and Molly had gone for a walk along the beach, but became trapped by the high tide.

After trying to get around it for about an hour, Gill called the coastguard, and the crew launched their D Class 'Akira' lifeboat within minutes.

The group were quickly rescued, and taken back to dry land.
