There will be Tayside representation at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on Saturday, from an Angus man who has been invited to the palace grounds on the big day.

Scott Ross from Brechin, a Warrant Officer with the Air Training Corps, was nominated by the Lord-Lieutenant of Angus for his work with the Air Cadets.

Scott will join around 1,200 members of the public in the grounds of Windsor Castle and will watch guests arriving, listen to the wedding broadcast live outside in the castle garden, and then watch the happy couple depart.

He said: "It is starting to get more exciting now as it is getting closer and the wife, she is probably more excited than me.

When asked how he reacted when the invitation came through the door, Ross said: "I was actually really excited, the first thing I did was phone my wife who was at work and I told her but she wouldn't believe me until she got home and saw the invitation with her own eyes".

He added: "Now that it is getting closer, I like to drop it into conversation that I'm going. A few people try to call my bluff and say that I'm lying, but once I convince them, they say, 'Oh really?!".
