Warning After Thieves Target North East Fife Properties
Seven thefts or attempted thefts have been reported to police since the 19th of December.
People in North East Fife are being warned to be on-guard after thieves targeted a number of isolated properties in recent weeks.
It comes after a black Mercedes ML250, and an amount of cash, was stolen from a farm in Newport-on-Tay sometime on Wednesday night (January 7).
It’s just one of seven thefts or attempted thefts reported to police since the 19th of December.
Sergeant Stuart Oliver said: “These type of crimes can have an enormous impact on the person or people who’s home is targeted. “Often vehicles, money, jewellery and various other personal and household items are taken in these thefts.
“Small things, such as having timer lights, can make all the difference and householders are reminded to check that all windows and doors are locked when leaving the house and at night.
“Please shut gates/access points and ensure they are locked when not in use and keep car and house keys out of sight in a safe, concealed place.”
