Dundee Utd captain Fraser Fyvie says he won't rush his 1st team comeback.

The midfielder, missing from action since sustaining a serious knee injury in December, came on as a sub for the reserves in the recent Irn Bru Cup tie with Alloa.

Fyvie admits it's been a hard slog to get to this stage.

“I got through it fine, felt good, so I’m happy with that. There’s still a long way to go but it’s a good start".

“The physio, Craig Reynolds, has been first class and I take my hat off to him.

“He has been with me for eight and a half months and sometimes I’ve been in the gym four or five hours a day.

“I can’t thank him enough for what’s he’s done for me.

“He’s kept me going, he’s kept me bright and I put it down to him that I’m back now.

“I always do my work, I’ve worked really hard, but he’s kept me going because it’s always a testing time when you spend so long together, nearly every day of your life during that period".
