An armed duo who left a man scarred for life in a revenge attack which ended in a lengthy siege have been jailed for more than five years.
Martin Reilly and Kristopher Zdrzalek were found guilty of repeatedly stabbing David Goldie, 37, on the head and body and turning a flat into "a bloodbath."
Reilly sparked the violent confrontation by posting revenge porn pictures of an ex-girlfriend on social media, the jury at Perth Sheriff Court heard.
The jury found Reilly, 38 and Zdrzalek, 28 guilty of severely injuring and permanently disfiguring Mr Goldie in the knife attack on 8 or 9 January this year.
Reilly was also found guilty of attacking three police officers by throwing a metal spanner and metal bar at them during the siege at 11 Grampian Court. The jury also found him guilty of acting in a threatening or abusive manner.
Reilly, from Perth, had also admitted posting abusive messages about his ex-partner along with intimate photographs of her on social media forums, four days earlier.
He was jailed for three years and three months yesterday after the court was told he had a long list of previous convictions for a variety of offences. Zdrzalek was jailed for two years.
A female witness who attended the flat said she found Mr Goldie slumped on the floor and Zdrzalek told her that they had already been involved in a fight.
She said there had been some sort of dispute over Reilly's ex-girlfriend and comments made by Mr Goldie had sparked another outbreak of violence.
"It all ended up in a big fight," she said. "The three of them ended up fighting. Mr Goldie stepped towards them and started the fight. He lunged forward.
"The next minute there was just blood everywhere. There was nothing much I could have done. I think he had stabbed Goldie. It all happened so quick.
"The blood just sprayed everywhere. I was scared. Kris said it was Martin. The knife was on the floor at this point. His face was bleeding open."
Mr Goldie was slashed several times and the jury was told that he would be left scarred for life as a result of the attack upon him.
Trained negotiators, officers in riot gear and dog teams were scrambled to the scene after the accused barricaded themselves inside the top floor flat.
Police locked down streets around the block of flats for most of the morning of 9 January, causing major congestion and tailbacks on busy Crieff Road.
Reilly was seen taunting officers from a window and residents reported the communal stairway of the flats being "covered in blood."
The siege, which lasted for several hours, was eventually brought to an end by officers wearing protective riot gear
