Two men appear in court accused of stabbing man and staging siege
Martin Reilly, 38, and Kristopher Zdrzalek, 28, are alleged to have attacked David Goldie before barricading themselves inside a Perth flat
Two men appeared in court today accused of repeatedly stabbing a man before staging a siege lasting for several hours.
Martin Reilly, 38, and Kristopher Zdrzalek, 28, are alleged to have endangered David Goldie's life by attacking him with a bladed instrument.
It is alleged that Mr Goldie, 37, was left seriously injured and scarred for life as a result of the assault in Perth on Tuesday 8 or Wednesday 9 January.
Both men appeared in private on a petition alleging they had repeatedly struck Mr Goldie on the body, face and head, with a weapon at 11 Grampian Court, Perth.
Reilly and Zdrzalek, Bute Drive, Perth, face a further charge alleging they staged a lengthy siege at Reilly's home at 11 Grampian Court during the morning of 9 January.
It is alleged that "over the course of several hours" they refused entry to three police officers and barricaded themselves into the property.
Reilly faces a third charge alleging he assaulted three police officers as they arrested him by throwing a spanner and metal bar at them. He is alleged to have struck a police shield and been on bail at the time.
Both men made no plea during the brief hearings at Perth Sheriff Court and they were remanded in custody. The case against them was continued for further examination by Sheriff William Wood.
The incident led to roads being closed off in Perth and major delays to morning rush hour traffic. Police dog teams and trained negotiators were present at the scene.
