Two arrested following ceasefire demonstration against Keir Starmer

Two people have been arrested after a pro-ceasefire demonstration in Glasgow.
The UK Labour leader travelled from London for a Scottish Labour winter gala fundraising event.
A large gathering of pro-Palestine and ceasefire supporters was waiting for him as he got off the train.
One protester was heard shouting, “shame on you!”, whilst another yelled, “Starmer, you should be in prison!”
The crowd in Glasgow later followed Sir Keir’s car to the Crowne Plaza, where there was a heavy police presence.
Social media videos show one protester being tackled to the ground by police.
Some Labour MPs at odds with war stance
A demonstration had been organised by the group, Stop the War Scotland, in the lead up to Sir Keir’s arrival.
The Labour leader is at odds with many in his party over his stance on the war in Gaza.
Last month, more than 50 Labour MPs rebelled against the leader in Westminster, backing an SNP amendment calling for a ceasefire.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of an ongoing protest at a premises on Congress Road, Glasgow, and an earlier protest in the Gordon Street area of the city.
“Officers are in attendance at Congress Road and engaging with the crowd.
"Two people have been arrested in connection with assaulting police officers at Congress Road and enquiries are ongoing.
"There have been no reports of any injuries at either protest."
