Dundee appoint Tony Docherty as manager
The long term Derek McInnes assistant replaces Gary Bowyer
Dundee have confirmed the appointment of Tony Docherty as their new manager.
The rookie manager has been chosen as the man to lead the dark blues in their first season back in the Premiership following the departure of Gary Bowyer.

Docherty began his coaching career with Falkirk before following Iain McCall to Dundee United in 2003.
Following his time at Tannadice, Docherty joined St Johnstone in 2007 where he teamed up with Derek McInnes. Their partnership continued following their departure from Perth in 2013.
The pair continued to work together at Bristol City, Aberdeen and Kilmarnock, where Docherty joins the Dens Park side from.
The club say their new backroom staff will be announced in "due course."
Managing Director John Nelms said: “I am delighted with Tony’s appointment. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge of our game, having been in the dugout for over 750 matches including national team experiences, European nights, and trophy-lifting moments here domestically.
"Tony’s leadership, work ethic, and humility will go a long way to bringing Dundee success in the coming years.”
Technical Director Gordon Strachan said: “Tony is a guy that has been there and done it in Scottish football, at a number of clubs alongside Derek (McInnes).
"I had the privilege to witness Tony’s coaching skills first-hand when he joined the Scotland coaching team. We know that next season is a big one for the club and Tony knows what it takes to win matches in this league, and that’s what we need. I’m thrilled we’ve got Tony onboard.”
