Thousands Watch Solar Eclipse

The first major solar eclipse in 16 years has been witnessed by thousands across Tayside and Fife.

It's estimated around 7-hundred people turned out at Dundee's Mills Observatory to watch it - some of you told us why....

The celestial show sees the moon moving in front of the sun, covering around 97 per cent of its surface, in some parts of the country.

David Paterson's from the city's astronomical society spoke was there too and says it's a unique event....
