Over a thousand Dundee University alumni sign up to celebrate 50 years of independence
They're making their way over from across the globe.
Over a thousand former students are expected at Dundee University this weekend, as it celebrates 50 years as an independent institution.
It used to be a part of the University of St. Andrews, but came into its own in 1967.
To mark the occasion, a calendar of events will take place over the next two days, welcoming alumni from all over the world.
Principle, Sir Pete Downs said: "We've got people from as far afield as Australia, the Middle East and the United States so that tells you first of all how far people have got in their careers, and how far they are prepared to come to visit the university.
"The Perth Road is going to be alive this weekend, the campus is going to be vibrant, and we are just looking forward to seeing so many old friends and people who had such a good time here when they were here.
He added: "Milestones are important to us- we have birthdays, we have our own anniversaries- so we tend to think in those ways.
"I think a period of 50 years is something where you can really assess how far you've come, and the university has come an enormous distance in that time."
"In the last three years, we have been the best University in the world under 50 years old, and now we are maturing so it's a milestone of great significance, but one we approach in fantastic shape as a university."
