The father of a man who has been missing for a decade has said he will never give up hope of finding out what happened to his son.

Allan Bryant, from Glenrothes, was 23 years old when he disappeared after leaving Styx nightclub in the town shortly after 2am on Sunday 3 November 2013.

His dad, Allan Bryant senior, has said he will never stop searching for answers and hopes a fresh police appeal on the 10th anniversary of Allan's disappearance will finally bring the family some closure.

While Allan is still classed as a missing person, his loved ones believe he has come to harm.

Speaking to us, his father said:

"The worst thing about it all is it is an ambiguous loss, which is the worst loss of all; not knowing where you're child is, not having somewhere to go and visit and put flowers down to mourn your child properly. If we had that then we could possibly try and move on with the rest of our lives."

He told us that it is hard to believe it has been a decade because, to the family, it seems just like yesterday.

Allan's disappearance has taken a huge toll on the family, including his two sisters who are now aged 27 and 19.

Mr Bryant said: "Over those ten years we've been through so much as a family regarding watching the police search for our son in ponds, rivers, quarries and woodlands."

He says it has been "hell" but he cannot give up, because his son would never have given up on him.

Mr Bryan believes somebody knows something and is urging people to think back and refresh their memories incase they have missed something which could help the police investigation.

Police Scotland are set to hold a press conference on Allan's disappearance in Fife on Friday and are also urging anyone with information to come forward.
