A 17 year old man is due in court in Dundee later to face charges under the Explosive Substances Act.

It follows a police search of a property in the city earlier this week.

A teenager has been charged following the search and a report submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland says;

“Police Scotland can confirm that a 17 year old man has been charged with offences under the Explosive Substances Act following a search of an address in Dundee on Monday 29th February. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today. Tayside Division would like to reassure the public that in the circumstances there was no immediate threat to any members of the public, nor is there cause for wider concern in the community.”
