Teenager and man charged after break-ins across Central Belt and Fife

The 49 incidents range from break-ins, attempted break-ins and thefts

Police believe a 16 and 22 year-old man are involved

A teenager and a man have been arrested and charged after break-ins across the Central Belt and Fife.

The men, aged 16 and 22, were cuffed following 49 incidents across the Lothians, North Lanarkshire, Glasgow, Fife and Forth Valley.

They ranged from break-ins, attempted break-ins and thefts and happened between September 28 and November 28.

The 22-year-old man is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court tomorrow and the 16-year-old will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Detective Inspector John Murphy, Livingston CID, said: “We understand the impact this type of crime has on the community and we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to find those responsible.”
