Teen appears in court in connection with police chase

A 17-year-old's appeared in court in connection with a police chase which resulted in a crash near on the A90 near St Madoes last month.

All four people in the car, which also included two 14-year-old girls, ended up in hospital.

The boy is accused of not stopping, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, having no insurance or a licence.

He made no plea at Perth Sheriff Court and has been remanded in custody.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We can confirm that a 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with an incident on the A90 near St Madoes on Saturday, February 20, 2021. He was expected to appear at Perth Sheriff Court today.

"Following a pursuit, a Vauxhall Corsa was involved in a collision and four teenagers were taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.

"Enquiries are still ongoing and we continue urge anyone with information to contact Police Scotland quoting incident 2040 of 20 February."
