Teen charged in connection with sexual assault of seven-year-old girl
Officers sealed off a playpark in Broughty Ferry on Saturday evening
A 14-year-old boy's now been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl near a Broughty Ferry playpark.
Officers sealed off the Castle Green area on Saturday evening. Detectives said it was an isolated incident but one that was distressing for the child and her family.
It was confirmed yesterday the teenager had been arrested and released pending further investigations.
A joint report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and Children’s Reporter.
Detective Inspector Gail Hill said: “We understand that this has been a distressing incident for those involved and an emotive incident felt by the whole local community.
“I would ask now that the public act responsibly and are mindful to the ongoing live legal proceedings in this case.
“I would like to thank the local community and all who assisted while our investigations have been ongoing.”
