LISTEN: Tay FM has first play of the Dundee 2023 European Capital of Culture song.

Danny Wilson frontman Gary Clark produced the song, featuring a number of local musicians including The View's Kyle Falconer, Adam Hunter, Model Aeroplanes and St Martiins, to back the bid for the city.

Gary joined Webster and Claire to discuss the makings of the song, how it came about and how everyone became involved:

The View's Kyle Falconer performed at Dundee's new music festival Carnival 56 over the weekend, and Webster caught up with him backstage. He told us how he became involved

"Gary Clark from Danny Wilson gave me a phone and he asked if I wanted to get involved with something for Dundee"

"Going in and just writing a song on the spot it's quite good, I asked what's the inspiration, he said Dundee!"

Bid Director Bryan Beattie said : "It's a great song that captures the spirit of Dundee and how folk connect and reconnect with the city. We want 2023 to give opportunities to young artists, and Gary has done that instinctively in the way he's produced Over Bridges. It's a brilliant bid anthem and signature tune all in one."
