T in the Park organisers in discussions over new Glasgow Green festival
T in the Park has been held at Strathallan Castle since 2015.
Organisers of T in the Park are in discussions to hold a 3-day festival at Glasgow Green.
If it goes ahead, it could bring thousands of fans to the park in July next year.
The news prompted speculation that T in the Park could be set to take a break next year.
The festival, which has been based at Strathallan since 2015, has drawn criticism for transport problems and three drug-related deaths at this year's event.
In a statement, Glasgow City Council said: "We are in discussions with DF Concerts about hosting a non-camping festival in the city next July.
"We will not be, and are not interested in, hosting T in the Park."
