Two men who killed Arbroath oil worker Steven Donaldson have launched a bid for freedom by appealing their conviction and sentence.
Steven Dickie and Callum Davidson were both found guilty of murdering the 27-year-old in Kirriemuir last June.
They brutally attacked him at the Kinnordy Nature Reserve before setting his body on fire.
The pair were sentenced to life in prison at the High Court in Edinburgh last month.
Dickie was ordered to serve a minimum of 23 year behind bars, while Davidson was given a minimum of 24.
A spokesman for the High Court in Edinburgh confirmed they lodged appeal papers on June 7.
Tasmin Glass was also jailed for 10 years for culpable homicide.
