St Johnstone's Liam Craig aims to bounce back from cup blow

Liam Craig is looking for St Johnstone to turn cup disappointment into three points when the Perth side visit Hamilton on Sunday.

The McDiarmid Park men were stunned in their Betfred Cup quarter-final tie against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Thursday night when Adam Rooney headed in a 90th-minute winner for the home side.

The decisive goal came moments after Dons goalkeeper Joe Lewis had touched David Wotherspoon's 30-yard free-kick on to the post.

Saints return to Ladbrokes Premiership duty at the SuperSeal Stadium and Craig is looking to continue the encouraging start to the league campaign which has left Tommy Wright's side behind second-placed Hearts only on goal difference after six games.

The midfielder told St Johnstone's YouTube channel: As the game went on we seemed to nullify them to very little and we got stronger going forward. But in the end it wasn't quite good enough.

It was disappointing but we have to pick ourselves up now.

We will use the disappointment to go to Hamilton on Sunday and hopefully get the three points.

It is a game where we feel we can cause them problems.

We have two hard away games coming up, Hamilton and Ross County, but this is a great opportunity for us to get three points.''
