St Johnstone boss Tommy Wright in positive mood for Rangers trip

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright believes Rangers are much stronger than the team they knocked out of last season's League Cup.
But Wright is in confident mood ahead of Wednesday's trip to Ibrox after his side continued their impressive start to the season.
Saints swept to a 3-1 victory in Govan in September last year against a side which had won their first 11 matches of the campaign.
Wright said: “Last year was a cup game, a one-off game. I think they are a lot stronger this year.
“They were able to go out and recruit in the summer and recruit experienced players, players with a lot of experience down in England, young players who seem to have a good future ahead of them.
“So they are probably a stronger squad than last year, but I do think we are stronger. But last year's game has got absolutely no bearing on it. There are changes to both squads.
“We will go there in good spirits because we have won four out of our last six.”
Saints leapfrogged Rangers in the Premiership on Sunday thanks to a 2-1 win over Dundee, just before Mark Warburton's side lost to Celtic in the Betfred Cup semi-finals.
Rangers had moved up to fourth the previous weekend with the help of St Johnstone's home defeat by Kilmarnock.
“It's good to bounce back from a disappointing result,” Wright said. “It's good to get three points anytime.
“It's early days in terms of the league. I'm not too bothered who it puts us above, I'm just glad we got three points and got back to winning ways and continued the good start we had to the season.”
