Dundee are far from happy with the SPFL over its refusal of an early pitch inspection ahead of Saturday's home match against Cove Rangers.

Why did the club ask for an early inspection of the pitch ?

A request was made on Friday to give their fans as much notice as possible, following an Arctic blast and heavy snow.

Despite undersoil heating being on all week they say the Dens Park pitch is in a state "that would put players' safety at risk".

Parts of Dens Park will have to stay shut due to safety issues

Some stands will also be out of action because of frozen pipes and certain areas inside and outside the stadium are dangerous.

However the SPFL has decided to delay an inspection until Saturday morning, when another update will be issued.
