Police appealing for information following assault in Dundee

Police Scotland are appealing for information following a serious assault in Dundee.

Following a disturbance with a large group, a 17-year-old man was assaulted.

The incident occurred at around 7:20pm on Saturday 2nd April on Alexander Street near to the junction with the Hilltown.

He was taken to Ninewells for treatment after suffering a head injury.

Police Constable Matthew Rhind of Downfield Police Station said : “We are keen to trace a man aged late thirties to early forties, heavy build, wearing black Adidas trainers, dark blue jeans, a black waist length rain jacket with a hood, a black snood, heavy set face with receding thinning brown hair.”

“We are reviewing CCTV footage in the area and I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to us as yet, to contact us as soon as possible.”

“Anyone with any information should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 3089 of 2 April, 2022.”
