Two teenagers were rescued by RNLI crews on Sunday afternoon, after they were cut off by the tide at Broughty Castle rock.

Lifeboat volunteers, based at Broughty Ferry, were called out just after 3pm to help the teens.

They were not injured and were brought back to the harbour.

The inshore lifeboat returned to the station at 3.15pm.

A spokesman for Brought Ferry RNLI said: "We urge people to enjoy a day at the coast, but to stay safe.

"We recommend that before going to the beach or coastal areas that you check the tides.

"You can find out more information about tides in your area through tide tables, apps, weather news or local websites.
