Search for person by River Tay in Perth continues

The search for a person by the River Tay in Perth has resumed after being called off late last night.
Emergency services were called to the Elcho Castle area at around 1.45pm on Monday afternoon after receiving a report of concern for a person.
A police helicopter was seen scanning the area and two appliances and water rescue crews were also mobilised.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told us: “Around 1.45pm on Monday, 30 October, 2023, we received a report of concern for a person near to the Elcho Castle area of Perth.
"Emergency services attended and searches were carried out in the area.
"Searches have resumed today, Tuesday, 31 October, 2023."
