Police officers in Angus are issuing a reminder to householders following a series of thefts and attempted thefts in Birkhill.

Officers are urging residents to be mindful of their car and home security.

A number of incidents occurred overnight on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th of April in the Coupar Angus Road and Hillpark Drive areas which officers believe to be linked.

A number of doors of houses, sheds and cars were attempted to be opened, with some items stolen from cars. Most incidents resulted in no entry being gained due to doors being well secured.

CCTV at one house has shown a male, described as possibly in late teens early 20s, slim build, who was wearing a hooded top with arms lighter than the body, dark jogging bottoms and black trainers, attempting to gain entry to the house, a car and an outbuilding.

Officers are urging anyone who becomes aware of someone behaving suspiciously during night-time hours, or attempting to enter your car or property at any time, call 999 right away.

Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries with the Birkhill incidents are also urged to call 101 or CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 with the incident reference 1537 of 19th April.
