Raith Rovers have appointed Susan Simpson to the club's board.

The club has been urged by supporters to make changes at the top level after signing and subsequently deciding not to play and to loan out David Goodwillie.

In their statement the Starks Park club admits "football has changed over the years".

It goes on to say "The players and fans of today are very different from the era in which many of the current directors grew up.

"To survive the club must change the way we develop and support all of the Raith Rovers family.

"whether that is players, club staff, volunteers, fans or the wider community.

"For this reason, we have also asked Susan to be the bridge between the Football Club and the Community Foundation."

Susan is a experienced professional in the world of HR having held senior positions with Marks & Spencers, Tesco and currently Glasgow School of Art.

She comes from a Raith Rovers supporting family.
