The rail line between Dundee and Arbroath is currently closed due to a gas leak near the railway at Carnoustie.

Scotrail is advising that services between Aberdeen and Glasgow and Edinburgh will also be impacted.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail Head of Customer Operations, said:

“We’re sorry to our customers who have had their journey disrupted as a result of this incident. Anyone delayed by 30 minutes or more can claim compensation through our Delay Repay Guarantee on the ScotRail website or mobile app.”

Earlier this evening, two homes and Carnoustie Leisure Centre were evacuated as a result of the leak.

Police have asked the public to avoid the area, with local road closures in place.
