Police investigation after pyrotechnic cannister posted through letterbox in Arbroath
The incident happened on Arbirlot Road at around 10.50pm on Tuesday.
Police are investigating after a pyrotechnic cannister was posted through a letterbox in Arbroath.
Emergency services were alerted to Arbirlot Road at around 10.50pm on Tuesday 16 January where fire crews quickly extinguished the cannister.
No one was injured and officers are now appealing for information.
Police Constable Nadine Anderson of Arbroath Police Station said: “Fortunately no one was hurt but this act of recklessness could have ended in tragedy. This was distressing for the householders.
“I would appeal to anyone in the area who witnessed anything suspicious to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 3657 of 16 January, 2024.”
