Police are searching for a convict, who's absconded from Castle Huntly prison near Dundee.

James John Boyle has been on a period of home leave, but didn't return to the prison when he was supposed to.

During his time out he's understood to have traveled to Clydebank, and also has connections to the Drumchapel area of Glasgow.

The 24-year-old was reported missing yesterday afternoon - and members of the public are being warned not to approach him.

He is described as being five feet eight inches tall, medium build, clean shaven with short brown hair.

If seen, members of the public should not approach him and should contact Police Scotland on 101.
