One week on after 77 year old William Rattray was reporting missing, officers will be returning to the areas of Perth and Bridge of Earn this evening (Tuesday 1st November) to ask motorists and the public if they can assist further with their enquiries. Officers will be in the areas of Tweedsmuir Road in the Letham area of Perth between 7.30pm and 8pm this evening and also in Bridge of Earn between 8pm and 10pm. William was last seen in the Letham area of Perth at around 7.40pm on Tuesday 24 November. His silver Vauxhall Astra car was later found parked and unattended in Earnbank, Bridge of Earn in the early hours of Wednesday 25 November. Since William was reported missing extensive police searches have been carried out by divisional officers assisted by Tayside Mountain Rescue, Police Dogs Unit and search officers from Operational Support Division, along with appliances from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and its specialist water rescue team from Perth. Officers continue to search the Bridge of Earn area including the River Earn for any sign of William. Local officers are also carrying out door to door enquiries and reviewing CCTV. When last seen, William was wearing black dress trousers, black waist length waterproof jacket and black gloves. His disappearance is out of character and there is significant concern for William's welfare. Inspector Nicky Russell said : 'It is now seven days since William was last seen. Officers have carried out extensive searches and are appealing again to anyone who may have any information that could help find William to contact us on 101'. Anyone who knows where William is or who has information that could assist Tayside Division in tracing him should call 101 or speak to any police officer.
