A man has died after being found unconscious in the street in an incident police are treating as "suspicious".
A man has died after being found unconscious in the street in an incident police are treating as "suspicious".
The 42-year-old was found lying in the street in Kirkcaldy, Fife, on Saturday evening.
Police said he was on Tweed Avenue close to its junction with Lawson Street when he was discovered at around 6.45pm.
He was taken to the town's Victoria Hospital but later died.
Officers are treating his death as suspicious and are appealing for information.
Inspector Gary Combe said: "Our inquiries are at an early stage and we would appeal to anyone with information that can assist us to please come forward.
"There will be a police presence in the area during the early stages of this inquiry with high visibility reassurance patrols.
"We are grateful for the support and cooperation of the local community and anyone with information or concerns is encouraged to speak to an officer or alternatively call police on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers."
