Police probe overnight raid at Angus sports centre
A green Mitsubishi L200 jeep, two Segway scooters and thousands of pounds’ worth of equipment have been taken in an overnight raid at a country sports centre in Angus.
Police were called to Burnhead Farm this morning to reports of a break-in at one of their workshops.
It is understood to have happened between 9pm on Wednesday night and 6am Thursday morning.
Owner and director, Rod Sim said the theft would greatly affect business over the coming weeks.
He said: "We have a corporate group booked in next Wednesday to use these activities.
"With the Segways, the thieves took them without the batteries or info keys in them so they're completely useless now.
"We've got a paintball game booked in as well and that equipment been taken so it will have a huge impact on customer days as obviously they're not going to be able to take part."
When asked what the public could do to help, Mr. Sim said: "Please contact the police and advise them if you have come across or have been offered anything.
"There was a number of hand tools, a little generator and various other things that made be offered to people so if anything does crop up then just contact the police and don’t buy them because they have been stolen."
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland is making enquiries after a green Mitsubishi pick-up was stolen following a break-in at Burnhead Farm, Auchterhouse, Angus overnight between Wed October 16 and Thurs 17th.
