Police are praising victims of a serial abuser from Perth. Frederick Mills was yesterday jailed for 6 years after being found guilty of an attempted murder and four other assault charges between 2005 and 2014. Officers say it wouldn't have been possible without the bravery of the 53 year old's former partners coming forward. Detective Chief Inspector Samantha McCluskey of the National Domestic Abuse Task Force, said : "This was a protracted police investigation carried out by the Domestic Abuse Taskforce in the North area of Police Scotland. "This represents the culmination of a lengthy investigation which was greatly assisted by Mill's previous partners, all of whom suffered violent abuse at his hands. "I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the victims who came forward and assisted the police investigation. It's thanks to their bravery that we were able to catalogue his violent history and bring him to justice. "Police Scotland is determined to break that cycle of abusive behaviour and assist those victims caught within it. "Help is available. No one should ever be subjected to domestic abuse in any form. I would urge anyone who may be subject to domestic abuse to contact Police Scotland on 101 or via partner agencies."
