Police name motorist killed by tree in Perthshire

A driver who died after a tree hit his car amid high winds and heavy rain has been named by police.

Scott Pankhurst, 42, also known as Scott Finnie, died following the incident on the A85 near Gilmerton, Perth and Kinross, on Tuesday evening.

Mr Pankhurst was from Dundee.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances and appealed for anyone with information to contact Tayside division on 101.

As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
