Police in Fife have named a man who died in hospital following a collision near Upper Largo in Fife.

Police in Fife have named a man who died in hospital following a collision near Upper Largo in Fife.

Mark Kelbie, from Edinburgh, was travelling in his silver BMW on the A915 when it appears to have struck a wall and left the road.

The 35-year-old was was taken to Victoria Hospital where he sadly passed away later on Saturday morning.

His family have issued the following statement through Police Scotland:

'Mark was a loving son, father and husband who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family are requesting privacy at this difficult time.'

The 24-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening, and was also taken to Victoria Hospital.

The road was closed for a number of hours to allow an investigation and police thanked the public for their patience.

Sergeant Jim Henry of the Road Policing Unit said: 'Our condolences go to Mark’s family and friends and we’re working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision. We're asking anyone who believes they may have seen a silver BMW in the area around this time, or anyone with information which can assist with our enquiries, to come forward.'
