Police issue warning after attempted break-ins in Dundee

Officers are warning people to lock their windows and doors after two different properties were targetted on Tuesday morning.

An investigation is underway after two incidents in the early hours of Tuesday morning in the Perth Road and Roseangle area of Dundee.

An intruder was disturbed while trying to break into two different properties – Police believe the incidents are linked.

Firstly, about 2:45am, a man was found trying to get in through a window at an address in Perth Road.

Then at around half past three an intruder entered an address in Westfield Place and ran off towards Perth Road. He had removed items from a drawer and was preparing to leave with them, but left empty-handed.

The person disturbed at Westfield Place is described as a white male, slim build and unshaven, wearing a baseball cap and a dark jacket, carrying a rucksack and another white bag.

Police are reminding everyone in the area to make sure their doors and windows are closed and locked, particularly at night.
