Police close off scene in Montrose following sudden death

There is a large police presence in the Rossie Bridge area of Montrose, as police investigate an incident in the town.

Forensic officers have been spotted near the bridge, with the area closed off to the public.

It's reported the bridge was closed for a short time this morning.

Police say there is no threat to the wider public.

In a statement, police said: “Officers were called around 3.40am on Tuesday, 2 November, 2021, following the sudden death of a man in the Rossie Island Road area of Montrose. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
