Police hunt two men after New Year's Day attack

A man needed treatment to facial injuries after he was attacked on New Year’s Day in Kirriemuir. It happened on the town’s high street around 2:30am.

Police want to trace two men in connection. The first is described as wearing a black tracksuit with white stripes down the arms and legs with grey trainers, and the second described as slim build, wearing a dark jacket over a white top, skinny ripped jeans and brown boots.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said:

“This incident was part of a larger disturbance which saw a number of persons charged and reported with various crimes relating to disorder and violence.

“If you have any information which could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any Police officer. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is CR/45/18."
