Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked and robbed at a cash machine in the centre of Dundee.

It happened on the corner of Courthouse Square and Ward Road at around 2:30am on Monday September 11.

Officers say the victim was punched in the head by two men after he had withdrawn money from the ATM.

He was left shaken but unhurt, while the pair grabbed the cash from him and ran off towards West Marketgait.

The first suspect is described as being about 5ft 10, white, heavy build with short dark hair, in his mid 20s, and wearing a white t-shirt, dark jeans and light coloured trainers.

The second is about 6ft, white, slim build with short dirty blonde hair, wearing a khaki green t-shirt with a logo on it, jeans and white Nike trainers.

Both spoke with local accents, and are thought to have been in the Balcony Bar immediately before the incident.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to come forward.
